Warded to the DA
The news from yesterday's prefect & Heads meeting was, in lack of a fitting word, infuriating. After giving sometime to think it over, however, I think we could manage to use it to our advantage if we think of a proper strategy.

We have a quota of detentions now, to be given out, in order to keep students "in line". If we fail to make the quota, we will have to serve detentions ourselves. However, the one loop hole that we have to work with is that we can give said detentions with Flitwick, McGonagall, & Sprout - they don't have to be detentions with the Carrows.

I haven't slept much since the news, and somewhere around three or four in the morning it dawned on me. We, as an organisation, cannot really afford to be seen organising, especially not against the Carrows. However, the prefects (and Head Girl) that are a part of this organisation come up with a method to get certain people in detention with the same person (again, NOT the Carrows), as a legitimate means to getting people together.

We have the journals, yes, to help communicate... but what if there is something physical, some object or some sort, that we need to pass from one member to the next? A detention with said members, with a professor that isn't likely to hurt us during said detention, could actually provide a safe means to do so.

I'm beginning to get the feeling that a lot of the professors are on our side, though they cant out rightly say so either. If they want to protect us, they have to go along with the system as much as if we want to protect others we have to as well. I strongly believe that the three professors I mentioned would "overlook" certain talking, plotting, or other activities should they take place during their detention.

Obviously we can't have every member of the DA in the same detention all the time, but we can rotate who is in which, and so on. If the DA uses the detentions to our advantage, we won't, at least, have to worry about giving out detentions to the younger years or our unwilling friends, knowing it is intentional.

It might seem as if I'm rambling, but honestly the thoughts are still kind of all over the place...

What if we use this method to help recruit new members, too? Strategically placing individuals we think might be good candidates into detentions with members who can help recruit them. It makes it less suspicious than attempting to have hidden conversations with people through out the day...
